Digital portfolio reflection

            Digital Portfolio Reflection
The general style of photography that most appeals to me are Marco photography, I like getting close to an ordinary subject and with unique angles and positions making that ordinary subject into something extraordinary, you can see this in my formalism photo “Shine”. The other style of photography I like is nature, I have a very strong love for nature and I like to show the beauty of it in picture in a very simple way. My strengths in photography are the rule of thirds. You can see my strengths through the November color theme assignment “Red”, because all of the photos have a main point and which I used the rule of thirds on. Another strength I have in photography is making a picture really appealing by taking it from interesting angles that make it look more exotic and different. That strength can be seen in the Formalism, “shine” photo assignment where I took pictures of simple objects that you don’t even notice or see in everyday life, my going really close to them and taking it from an interesting angle, I was able to capture simple yet interesting photographs.
What I need to improve on in photography is playing around with the settings on the camera. For example, during the shutter speed photo assignment, I wasn’t able to take pictures of things that were moving really fast because they would turn out really blurry in my picture. In my picture “Toronto” you can see that i captures the movement of a person walking and moving cars and a bus, I was successful on capturing the movement by getting a clear picture because the people and the objects weren’t moving at a very high speed.
The photograph that I want to talk about is “apple” from the hands and eyes assignment. What I wanted to show in this photo was the simple beauty of an apple and hands. I was successful to show the beauty of the hands and the apple by going close and taking the photo to avoid any distraction from the background. When you look at this photo, you get a feeling of nature and beauty, and that’s exactly what I wanted to show.
