Diane Arbus

I like this portrait image because of many different reasons. I like the lighting in this image; the lighting creates contrast in the models face. The lighting also creates a shadow in the background adding lights in the front the object or person.  I like the props that are used in this picture, the cigarette, hair curlers, fake nails ect, the props make the picture more interesting, and in this case it makes it unique because the model happens to be a male.

I like this portrait image because of many different reasons. I like the composition; rule of thirds is used
even though it’s a close up face portrait. I like how the model is not looking directly at the camera; this gives the picture a different perspective and thought and makes you wonder what she is looking at. I also like how the top of the models head and around the picture is out of focus, this can be done by playing with aperture.

I like this portrait image because of many different reasons. I like the angle that the picture was taken. It looks like either the baby or the camera is placed at an interesting angle rather than a typical mainstream straight up face portrait. I like the baby’s expression, which is a crying face; the face expression makes the picture different and unique rather than a typical smiling baby portrait. The crying face gives the picture a personality and a sense of reality. I also like the background in this imagine, it is unclear what it is in the background but it gives the picture a sense of life.
